There are events that make us think “I have been through this road before, not once or twice but many a time”. Each of these events erode a measure of hope about the future. Each time we go through these vicious cycles our hearts are hardened such that we rule out any possibility of anything better, at least in relation to that area. After all we have been disappointed too many times. Our expectations were raised only to be dashed and we were left in a state of paralysing pain.

Naturally, our past experiences become our point of reference that informs our projections of the future. There are familiar patterns that we come to embrace as the story of our lives. We become so accustomed to some cycles that even the turnout of things does not surprise us anymore.

It is pleasing to know that there is a turning point appointed for each of us. When turning points visit us, they usher in a new season that makes us say “THAT WAS THEN”. Those life-changing moments tend to alter the trajectory of our lives forever, and one thing leads to another. It does not matter how long the cycle persisted or what is responsible for it. As long as God is at the center of it, every cycle can be broken.

For every cycle of pain, there is a cycle of joy awaiting you. It is the type of joy that makes you forget every pain you ever went through. You  just need to brace yourself for that turning point. We have also been given the power to pray and break every cycle that we see manifesting in our lives. It could be a cycle of financial lack, failed relationships, repeated failures, addiction, seasonal sickness, failure at the edge of success, repeated disappointments, work related challenges. Whatever it is,  we have been given the power to pray and break free from everything hindering our progress.

You can join in praying this prayer of faith, and break the cycles in your life –

“Heavenly Father, thank you for my life. I know that you want the best for me.Thank you for your promise of abundant life for me. I confess that Jesus is Lord over my life and that he died that I may be set free. I break free from every cycle of pain, rejection, repeated failures, poverty, debts, stagnation, setbacks, obstacles, defeat, abuse, unfruitfulness and retardation. I declare that I am set free and blessed, in Jesus Name.” Amen
